Pinera and the groups he was with have collectively sold over one hundred million copies. He has been recording, producing and touring non-stop since 1969. He performs for millions of people each year at festivals, fairs, arenas, corporate events and stadiums.

The Beginning
• Mike and his group Blues Image started in Tampa Florida and soon moved to Miami where they were the co-founders and house band at THEE IMAGE, a Miami Beach national concert venue. They opened it in 1968 and co-headlined to sold out shows with such artists as THE GRATEFUL DEAD, THE CREAM with ERIC CLAPTON, THE YARDBIRDS with JIMMY PAGE, ERIC BURDON & THE ANIMALS, JIMI HENDRIX, THE DOORS, to name a few.
• Blues Image soon signed with Atlantic Records where they had a major hit with "RIDE CAPTAIN RIDE" which Mike co-wrote and sang. Ride Captain Ride is currently featured in television shows and on several best-selling music compilations offered on TV like "FLOWER POWER, HAVE A NICE DAY, PBS-MY MUSIC THE 70's, SOUNDS OF THE SEVENTIES." The certified multi-platinum hit song is also in major movies such as ANCHORMAN.

• Mike later joined IRON BUTTERFLY. The Butterfly’s mega hit “IN A GADDA DA VIDA” stayed on top of the charts for a record-breaking 52 weeks earning them the first Platinum Record Award in music history. It has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

• The BUTTERFLY's tours with such bands as LED ZEPPELIN, THE DOORS, SANTANA, JIMI HENDRIX, THE WHO and others were legendary.The IRON BUTTERFLY albums that feature Pinera's playing and songs are METAMORPHOSIS, EVOLUTION, BEST OF THE IRON BUTTERFLY, LIGHT & HEAVY.

The DVD, IN A GADDA DA VIDA featuring Pinera is still a best seller today.
• Collectively, the IRON BUTTERFLY albums have sold over 50 million albums.

• While in The Butterfly Pinera helped discover and co-produce the band BLACK OAK ARKANSAS with Butterfly bassist Lee Dorman. The group became an instant hit on ATLANTIC RECORDS resulting in a million seller in less than a year, now multi-platinum.

o Mike and JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE drummer MITCH MITCHELL formed the band RAMATAM.

The group, which included guitarist extraordinaire April Lawton, was acclaimed as a cutting edge progressive rock band. The album RAMATAM on Atlantic Records is considered to be a monumental highlight in Progressive Rock history.

• Pinera then joined CACTUS. The album NEW CACTUS BAND - SON OF CACTUS, was a mixture of blues and boogie. Tours with TEN YEARS AFTER, EMERSON LAKE & PALMER, ROD STEWART, AEROSMITH and others, sold out stadiums and arenas.



The Middle
• Mike released his first solo album ISLA on Capricorn records and his second a year later, FOREVER on Spector/Capitol. Self-written and produced, he had a hit single with the song GOODNIGHT MY LOVE. Tours with JOURNEY, TED NUGENT, BOB SEGER and others were labeled as ground-breaking."

• Pinera and pal Ted Nugent turned their nightly jamming on their tour into a stadium rock event entitled THE GUITAR BATTLE OF THE CENTURY… an exciting blend of high energy playing and audience participation. “Kind of like American Idol meets World-Wide Wrestling, but beyond the theatrics we actually played very well together and our tour dates and crowds tripled,” jokes Pinera.

• Mike then joined up with long time pal ALICE COOPER. The albums he recorded with Alice are SPECIAL FORCES and ZIPPER CATCHES FLESH. Pinera co-wrote with Alice and helped produce a national TV Special in France called ALICE IN PARIS now a DVD. Mike would open some of the sold-out stadium concerts with his own group, THE MIKE PINERA BAND then return onstage to play lead guitar in THE ALICE COOPER BAND.

• Pinera’s live shows on national television sold over half a million in CD's during a fifteen minute segment. Mike’s solo album In "The Garden Of Eden" was bundled along with the CD “EARTHRISE - THE BENEFIT FOR THE RAINFOREST,” with U2, STING, PETER GABRIEL, PAUL McCARTNEY, ELTON JOHN, PAUL SIMON, PHIL COLLINS, GENESIS, THE PRETENDERS, THE EURYTHMICS, JULIAN LENNON and others. Guest performers joining Mike live included Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac, Jon Anderson of Yes, Taylor Dayne and The Classic Rock All-Stars.

• Other events which Mike produced include THE ELTON JOHN CONCERT AT THE NEW ORLEANS SUPERDOME for KING WORLD, THE TOYS IN THE SUN BENEFIT CONCERT FOR THE JOE DI MAGGIO CHILDREN'S CANCER CARE HOSPITAL, LEGENDS OF ROCK, (shot in HDTV) and CLASSIC ROCK ALL-STARS WITH LEGENDS OF SOUTHERN ROCK distributed live over COMCAST CABLE and satellite world-wide.

The Present
• The new, soon to be released Mike Pinera CD, "THE PRESENT" © 2011 Pinera Music is in final stages of completion. It will be offered to fans and friends first at www.realrock.com. In addition to the Pinera-produced album of new songs which will also feature special guest stars, a bonus CD, "Anthology" is also included free. It will contain the most requested songs from all the legendary bands Mike was with.

A new weekly TV series written, hosted and produced by Pinera is in the final stages of production. The altered reality show, "BAND ON THE RUN" is based on real events, shot on tour and in the studio. "BAND ON THE RUN" is the first program of it's kind; a celebrity-driven supernatural-music-action-thriller.
